Exfoliators
Using a face exfoliator helps to keep your skin feeling soft and smooth by buffing away impurities and dead skin cells, which can make your skin feel dehdrated, dull and flaky. This allows new, fresh skin cells to surface.
Some exfoliating products are designed to be used daily whereas others are suggested to be used less frequently. Check each face exfoliator product packaging for application instructions to ensure you are maximising the efficacy of your chosen exfoliator.
Face scrubs are typically referred to as manual exfoliators whereas liquid versions are called chemical exfoliants. Both are designed to smooth the skin by removing dead skin cells and unclogging pores however a face scrub contains tiny exfoliating particles whereas a liquid exfoliator features exfoliating acids.
This will depend on the type of exfoliator you are using. For example, if you are using an exfoliating cleanser, you would use this first in your skincare routine. If you are using an exfoliating toner, you would use this after cleansing your skin. Typically all exfoliating happens at the beginning of your skincare routine to create a smooth base ready for your serum and moisturiser application.
