So far the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign reaches over 60 countries and is spoken in 103 languages.

Breast Cancer is the most common cause of cancer in women (excluding skin cancer). Worldwide more than a million cases of breast cancer will be detected each year, according to the International Agency for Research on Cancer in Lyon, France. However, if breast cancer is detected early, 98% of women will survive.

To date, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation has raised more than $220 million for translational research and awareness and in 2007 supported 151 researchers around the world in the U.S, Canada, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe (including the UK's Royal Marsden Institute of Cancer Research).

A message from Evelyn H. Lauder

Don't be afraid of Breast Cancer. Don't be afraid to do breast self-examination or to have a clinical breast exam as part of a regular doctors visit. Don't be afraid - or wait - to go to your doctor if you find a lump or suspect something. And please keep spreading the message that early detection and treatment saves lives.
